| Welcome To
CeleGAYtions.com! |
CeleGAYtions.com is
dedicated to celebrating and promoting businesses
and organizations that are owned by, or welcome
members of, the gay and lesbian community;
and to highlighting the entertainment industry
that is impacting us all for better or for
worse.
Gays and lesbians have a LOUD consumer
voice. Use yours where it counts!
A July, 1991 article in The Wall Street Journal called
the gay and lesbian community "a dream market", and
according to the Gay Press Report from Rivendell Marketing
and Prime Access, 36% of Fortune 100 companies have
advertised directly to the gay and lesbian market. American
corporations now spend about $200 million annually in
gay print media, and even more has been spent in sponsorships
and online advertising.
Don't feed the hand that bites you.
When looking to spend your hard-earned cash, go fishing
in our business
directory and look for the CeleGAYtions
Open Door Icon on websites you visit. Businesses and
organizations displaying the CeleGAYtions Open Door
Icon have pledged their support to the gay and lesbian
community. |

Dawn Caccavalla
Creative Director
|
Dawn
Caccavalla is an artist who views the world through
rainbow-colored glasses. An unfortunate dog mauling accident
in her early years destroyed critical brain cells in her
right frontal lobe leaving her with the uncanny ability
to find good in the bad, nice in the nasty and light in
the dark. In her spare time she helps little old ladies
cross the street and feeds the homeless. While she adores sunsets, fluffy clouds
and walks on the beach, CeleGAYtions and her partner of
over a decade are her true loves. For a living, Dawn cracks
the whip as a Creative Director in a NY marketing company,
but she's ready to quit that day job so check out her
website at www.dcaccavalla.com and contract her services for all of your art-and marketing-related
needs. |

Cynthia Gunnells
Writer/Editor |
Cynthia
Gunnells is a NY-based writer who toils
in the corporate world by day and stalks
celebrities by night. After 19 idyllic
years in the Midwest, she weaned herself
from the tit of the suburbs and headed
to Manhattan where she learned to stop
being polite and start getting real. Cynthia
credits her posse of gaybies with giving
her a fashion sense and fostering her drive
and determination to win at all costs.
When not brooding in the basement, she can
be found under a stack of DVDs ferociously
scribing notes or at her local newsstand
inhaling the latest gossip magazines. The
items essential to her survival include,
Aveda hair care products, cable television,
SPF 80, Peanut M&M's,
Crest Whitestrips, a library card and the aforementioned
co-founder (not necessarily in that order).
If you ask nicely (or pay well), Cynthia
could translate your thoughts to words.

| The
CeleGAYtions.com story: |
CeleGAYtions.com
is dedicated to celebrating and promoting
businesses and organizations that are owned
by, or welcome members of, the gay and lesbian
community. The concept for CeleGAYtions
arose out of necessity. Not too long ago
we purchased our dream home and if you've
ever seen the film The Money Pit, you've
had a bird's-eye view of our life over the
last year. During the renovation process
we dealt with a plethora of contractors,
town officials, decorators, handymen, service
providers and business owners. Some were
a dreamy delight, while others made us feel
like Rosemary's baby and then laughed all
the way to the bank. We quickly realized
we were spending our money in the wrong
places and created this site in an effort
to link consumers with establishments that
respect EVERYONE, and with the entertainment
industry that is impacting us all for better
or for worse. Manufacturers and retailers
are just beginning to realize the growing
value of the gay and lesbian market, so
our voice counts now more than ever. Be
sure to make yours heard loud and clear. |
